Garreth joined AFC Bournemouth team-mate Wade Elliott in making the move to Turf Moor during the close season of 2005 after helping the Cherries to a high placed finish in League One during the 2004/05 season.

Unfortunately, they finished just a point short of the play-offs and O'Connor felt it was time to move on and enhance his career in the Championship.

With his contract due to expire in July 2005, Burnley boss Steve Cotterill swooped and, just over a week after the end of the season, persuaded O'Connor to agree terms on a three-year contract with the Clarets.

A skilful midfield player who netted a career-best 14 goals in the 2004/05 season, O'Connor loves to get forward and he exploded onto the scene with the Clarets with six goals by mid-October - including four in as many games.

Not only does the attack-minded player possess a powerful shot, but he is also a worthy candidate for set pieces and penalties, something which Burnley have lacked since the departure of Robbie Blake.

The Dubliner - no relation to fellow Clarets midfielder James - was initially brought to English football by Bournemouth when they signed him from Irish League outfit Bohemians in the summer of 2000.

After taking a season to settle into the pace of things in the Football League, he soon became a regular figure at Dean Court and scored one of the goals in Bournemouth's play-off final victory against Lincoln City at the Millennium Stadium in 2003.
","igoZ34ozY60=":"Garreth O'Connor","TwhW+K6dU5U=":"173cm","B3ioAMIbG6I=":"1584
; var playerStats=
;
