Viacheslav Malafeev was born in Leningrad. <\/P>

Career<\/B> <\/P>

Having started playing football at the age of nine, he marks that understanding that football is his calling and future occupation has come later, after leaving school. He is a football school «Smena» graduate (coaches – V. P. Savin, V.V. Vilde, V. P. Smakov). <\/P>

From 1997 played for «Zenit- 2» team. From 1999 till now he sticks up for FC Zenit colors (he made his debut for the first team on the 7th of July, 1999 in the match against FC Alania with the 2 – 2 scoreline. <\/P>

From 1999 Viacheslav played in the Russia youth international team. (debut on the 4th of September, 1999 in the match against Armenia). <\/P>

From 2000 he’s been called up to the Russian national side (his debut took place on the 19th of November, 2003 in the away match against the Welsh national squad which ended with the Russian side victory 0 – 1. <\/P>
