ALBRECHTSEN joined Albion from FC Copenhagen in June 2004 for a then-club record £2.7million transfer fee, signing a three-year deal plus a year's option in the club's favour<\/P>
After struggling to hold down a place at centre-half and left-back during his first few months as an Albion player, the jet-heeled defender was surprisingly slotted in at right-back by Bryan Robson and went on to play a vital part in the Baggies' Great Escape of 2004\/05.<\/P>
During 2005\/06, he faced stiff competition for his position from new recruit Steve Watson but still went on to make 35 appearances, coming off the bench to score his first Baggies goal in a 1-0 win at Wigan in January 2006.<\/P>
After joining from local rivals AB, Albrechtsen spent two-and-half years at FC Copenhagen, where he helped the Danish giants win and retain the Danish Super League title in his final two seasons at the club, winning the domestic double in 2003\/04.<\/P>
